description of :
*I am not a teacher! I am a tutor!*
This is an important distinction to take
into consideration. There is no substitute
for information obtained directly from your
professor (for college students). What do I
mean by this? I mean that visiting your
lecturer during office hours to receive
extra help is the most viable route to
relevant and reliable information with
regard to his/her exam expectations.
However, if that is not enough and/or your
professor does not make him/herself
available often, a tutor may be an excellent
SUPPLEMENT to your lecture material.

My current activities involve a rigorous and
diligent commitment to my own college course
work, as I happen to be a college student as
well. I am devoted to learning and
understanding material OBJECTIVELY. This is
a particularly important quality of my
perspective on learning because I wish to
complete a PhD upon the completion of my
undergraduate studies in spring 2010. Thus,
I am a "peer tutor"

Teacher's qualifications:
I will post a link to my resume as soon as I
figure out how that is possible. Also, as a
side note, I do not know how to convert my
resume to a PDF file; so as to prevent any
undesirable modifications as a result of
internet accessibility on this site, any
advice would be great...perhaps a trade?
haha.

I have been, and still am, a tutor at my
colleges tutoring center. I tutor almost all
existing biology courses offered by my
school along with intro chem, physics, and
psych. I have been doing so for the last 6
academic semesters and begin again in the
fall.

's preferred teaching style:
I have designed my tutoring method
meticulously, in an effort to have students
get the greatest value of the experience.
for example, I take over where a professor
usually draws the line. A professor of
college level material does not have to, nor
is professionally expected, to dilute to
material too much. So, thats my
starting/focal point for presenting material
to the student. I step in with analogies,
examples, problems with solutions, and other
practical applications that, once
understood, will provide (collectively) a
manageable perception of a previously
abstract concept. after all, studies show
that individuals learn more efficiently by
being presented with the same material from
multiple perspectives, rather than simple
repetition!

Another important aspect of my teaching
method, is that I make a huge effort to
teach students how to teach themselves.
that is, to become aware of the necessary
tools used to abstract and complex
information into lucid thoughts.
