Over the course of the sessions, we will review strategies to recruit/source and
hire the best fit candidate for your organization. Whether, you have a small
mid-level or large scale business, hiring and retention of your associates is the
foundation to success.

In order to participate, must be a business owner who has hiring needs and/or
has higher turnover.

Prior to attending the sessions, please have an idea of your hiring needs
(positions, PT/FT, # of people to hire) and current turnover percentage.

Session 1: Evaluation of your hiring needs and brainstorming strategies that
would be the best fit to meet your needs (1 hour and 30 minutes)

Session 2: Why should a candidate choose my company? Discussion of what
your company has to offer (incentives, career paths, etc) and the company's
mission statements/philosophies (45 minutes)

Session 3: Consideration of application and screening tools (45 minutes)

Session 4: Effective interviewing skills (1 hour 30 minutes)

Session 5: Closing the deal with the candidates: Making hiring decisions,
timely communication, pay considerations and rejecting candidates (45
minutes)

Session 6: The hired candidate: How do we retain them? Discussion of
training programs, associate morale and effective leadership (2 hours)

I am currently an Executive Recruiter for an agency that specializes in recruitment of managers in the retail industry. Prior to my current position, I was a Recruiting and Training Manager for an upscale grocery retailer and was responsible for all recruitment efforts and training programs for my specific region. I have a passion for assisting others achieve their professional goals.
 
Teacher's qualifications:
I have 12 years of experience recruiting in both corporate and agency environment. In addition to recruiting and sourcing candidates, I also have many years of experience in teaching and training on various subjects such as interviewing skills, leadership, food safety compliance,customer service and diversity. For the past 2 years, I have been homeschooling my three children ranging in grade levels from 2nd to 7th grade.
 
's preferred teaching style:
My materials and teaching aides are structured but my teaching style is very informal. I bring a mixture of personal anecdotes and experiences and encourage person/group interaction in a conversational way.
