Crocheting 101

tutoring & advice

 with Lauren Hanson

short description:
In this course I will be giving the prerequisite knowledge for my more advanced course, "Crocheting '202'"

long description:
This course will include casting off and basic stitching. You
will learn the chain, single, double, and triple stitch, as
well as how to make a simple scarf. After the scarf we will
also be making a "beanie" hat. This project will teach you how
to keep track of stitches, which is an important skill for my
next course, "Crocheting '202'".

level of difficulty:
all welcome

minimum class size:
1

availability:
I am available in the evenings of
weekdays. On occasion, I have unavoidable
preoccupations so I require flexibility at
certain times.

fee comments:
I will be providing patterns which I have
bought myself. Most run
at about $10, therefore this fee is simply
to cover the cost of said patterns.

description of :
I have never been arrested, I am a young
adult, I have a lot of experience with
children as well as teaching adults, and I
have always displayed much patience when
teaching someone a new skill.

Teacher's qualifications:
I have experience tutoring young children,
I have even taught adults the basics of my
above listed expertise free of charge.

's preferred teaching style:
I usually start off with the basics, and
grow from there. I would plan to start of
my "learners" with a basic foundation of
crocheting, and, as the classes progress,
move them into how to read patterns and
things of the such. I have previous
experience in drawing diagrams to make
what I am teaching clear.
