The purpose of this course it to prepare you for a career in bookkeeping. This course is made up in two parts, This one and Professional Bookkeeping and Accounting Advanced Course. If you complete this course with an average of 70% or better, You will be able to take the advanced bookeeping and accounting course. We will cover:
Accounting: The Language of Business , The need for Financial Information.
Accounting Defined.
Accounting Career, Public Accounting,Managerial Accounting, and Governmental Accounting.
Users of Financial Information Owners and Managers, Suppliers, Banks, Tax Authorities, Regulatory Agencies and Investors, customers, Employees and Unions.
Types of Business Entities, Sole proprietorships, Partnerships, and COrporations.
Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, the development of GAAP's, and the use of GAAP's.
Effective Communications.
Analyzing Business Transactions, Purchasing Equipment on credit, purchasing supplies, paying a creditor.
Assets, Liabilities, and owner's Equity.
The Fundamental Accounting Equation, effects of revenue and expenses, seeling services for cash, selling services on credit.

Sales and Accounts Receivable, Purchases and Accoutns Payable, Cash and Banking Procedures, Payroll, Payroll Taxes, Accruals, Deferrals, and the Worksheet, Financial Statements and Closing Procedures, Accounts Receivable and Uncollected Accounts, Merchandise Inventory, Property, Plant, and Equipment.

This course is being considered for qualification to test at the NCCT. This means, if we are accepted all students receiving a grade average of 75% or better will be able to take the NCCT test to become a CERTIFIED BOOKKEEPER.

I like to let the students read over the course material and provide them with answers to there questions. Atleast Once a week, I like to hold a class for discussion. I do use homework and believe in extensive testing to make sure that you are learning the material.
