Reward Management is concerned with the formulation and implementation of strategies and policies that aim to reward people fairly, equitably and consistently in accordance with the value to the organization.

Reward management strategies are designed to support the achievement of business objectives by helping to ensure that the organization can attract,retain, and motivate competent and committed employees.

This course looks briefly at the role of reward in the context of motivation theories and then goes on to explore some key aspects of reward management: how the value of work is determined (by job evaluation) and other determinants affecting pay. It also looks at a variety of financial and non financial reward systems, as part of the 'total reward' concept.

This course discusses several ways in which people can be rewarded differentially according to their performance.

(d) Different types of reward systems, including performance-related pay
