description of :
One-on-one and in small settings I'm immediately accessible; in larger classes I'm available at the srudent's convenience by appointment. I consistently score above the 90th percentile on institutional student satisfaction evaluations.
Teacher's qualifications:
PhD in Rhetoric and Composition from the University of Nebraska. Former Fellow of The Nebraska Writing Project. 25 years' experience as a college classroom professor that overlaps 20 years of professional persuasive writing (fund raising, the most challenging form of persuasive writing).
's preferred teaching style:
I begin where the individual student's skills end. If you can write a good sentence, I'll take you to the paragraph and beyond. If you write solid paragraphs, I'll teach you to write effective, compelling persuasion pieces (proposals, business plans, marketing strategies); clear, concise instructions (operators' or users' manuals); or comprehensive and well-documented reports. Writing assignments are sequenced from easier to more sophisticated skills and strategies.
