Through education, students should expand their conceptual understanding, develop problem solving and critical thinking skills, and develop respect for themselves and others. I strive to inspire my students to excellence through leading by example, holding my students accountable, and positive reinforcement of student accomplishments and goals.

I hold myself to the highest standard of excellence. Using research based instructional strategies and creative lesson planning, I strive each day to be a better teacher than the day before. As a life long learner, I continue to expand my knowledge and experiences through professional development workshops, graduate level education, professional journals, bilingual learning experiences and the knowledge from my fellow teachers. I truly believe that you cannot expect excellence from your students, if you cannot lead by example.

I begin by setting students up to succeed with a well planned, intriguing lesson plan including sequenced activities that cater to multiple intelligences, promote problem solving and expand critical thinking skills through aural, visual, and kinetic activities.
As a dedicator educator, I know that positive reinforcement and real world application is vital to student achievement. I strive to create an atmosphere of respect where students are safe to believe, hope and dream whatever they like. I try to get to know my students' goals through asking questions, listening, and encouraging them.
