Teacher's qualifications:
[I have spent 5 years in the public school system and now teach in a private school setting. I am experienced in Music education as well as having scored high on the certification test for Literature. ]
's preferred teaching style:
[As a teacher, I hold high expectations for my students, including written language and verbal skills. While I am sometimes considered demanding, I also believe in keeping an open mind and allowing my students to teach me as much as I teach my students. Building an educational community within the classroom means focusing on the free flow of ideas from student to teacher, teacher to student, and student to student. We all teach and learn from one another.

Students can expect to read assigned novels in a manageable time frame and to recieve written assignments which correspond to each novel. Some assignments will be open-ended, and some will ask students to address a specific question.

I will not give assessments as to whether or not you have read the assigned literature, only ask your opinion regarding the question posed. Students are expected to back up their answers with sound logic and reasoning.

Participation in the discussion forum is highly recommended and is a large part of the overall course.]
