long description: Algebra is a branch of mathematics that uses mathematical statements to describe relationships between things that vary over time.
Identify integers, rational numbers, and irrational numbers
Add like terms with signed coefficients
Use order of operations to simplify expressions (PEMDAS)
What is the inverse?
What does negative mean?
Why does sign matter?
Add, subtract, multiply and divide positive and negative rational numbers.
Evaluate Algebraic expressions
What does constant look like?
Find the absolute value of a real number
Solve equations.
Solving Inequalities
Solve inequalities involving absolute values.
Solve linear inequalities with absolute values on both sides of the inequality sign.
Graph solutions of inequalities on a number line (using brackets and parenthesis instead of open and closed dots)
give solutions in interval notations
Graph an inequality in two variables in the coordinate plane
Interpret tables, equations and graphs. And describe the connections between these representations.
Convert from one functional representation to another. (From table to graph, from graph to equations, etc.)
Graph linear equations using slope-intercept, intercepts, tables, two points, and from verbal descriptions.
Find the slope of a line from a graph, equation, and two given points
Interpret slope as a rate of change
Find the equation of a line using slope-intercept, point-slope, two points, and parallel and perpendicular to a given line.
Recognize and graph horizontal and vertical lines and their slopes.
Graph a system of linear inequalities in the coordinate plane.
Solve a 2 variable system using the substitution method and/or the linear combination (elimination) method and check the solution.
Solving systems of 3 variables.
Use the properties of exponents to simplify expressions
Simplify expressions with zero and negative exponents
Use very large and very small numbers in real life situations to solve problems
Add and subtract polynomials
Divide polynomial by a polynomial or binomial factor
Factor a quadratic expression
Find the quadratic equation from a graph.
Use complex numbers when simplifying the quadratic formula
Graph inverse relationships

description of : I am a charismatic and fun person. I deem education to be one of, if not, the most important thing anyone could invest their time in. Sometimes a subject can be a little hard and seem like it is just out of reach, but with some patience and hard work I can help you achieve success

Teacher's qualifications: I am in my second year of college. I will receive my AS in Psychology this summer. I am also a Substitute educator for the Craven Board of Education.

's preferred teaching style: I like to listen to the student have them walk me through what ever they are working on so that I can spot where they are making a mistake. I think that its easier to fix a problem if you can spot it. Most of the time students aren't even that far behind and just make minor mistakes.
