German Expressionism refers artistic movements beginning in Germany before the First World War. These developments in Germany were part of a larger Expressionist movement in north and central European culture. We will be exploring artistic groups; Die Brüke and Der Blaue Reiter. Individual artist involved with the expressionist movement; Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, Emil Nolde, Vassily Kandinsky, Franz Marc, Käthe Kollwitz, and Paula Modersohn-Becker.

I have always found art history to be very interesting and I am excited to teach others in the area. I think having a group discussions on these topics will make the art come alive.
Teacher's qualifications:
I have a BA in art history and my thesis seminar was on German Expressionism with an emphasis on the portrayal of women. I am working on getting my Masters in education.
's preferred teaching style:
There will be some lecturing, kept to a minimum. I hope to spend much having an open discussions on the artist and their work.
