description of :
I am an ordained Southern Baptist Minister with over 20 years of experience. I hold a Masters degree in Theology and Christian Education from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. I have also taken extra course work at Duke University on Biblical history and homiletic s. I have a passion for teaching and feel that knowledge is power and with knowledge we can overcome our mistrust.
Teacher's qualifications:
M/Div Southeastern Baptist Seminary-Theology and Christian Education. BA NC Wesleyan College Religion/Philosophy. AS Radio and TV Broadcast technology. Additional Post Graduate work Duke University.
's preferred teaching style:
I feel that in an online environment getting to know students is a vital part of learning. Therefore I would insist that each student prepare a one to three page paper introducing themselves, their reasons for taking this class and their real life experiences concerning religion. I am also very open minded. Even though I come from a Christian background I am always looking for ways to learn about other faiths and their practices. I do not put others down for their beliefs, in fact opposing beliefs often lead to lively discussions and more learning opportunities. I will also have an "open door" policy in which I will always be available via email or phone if an emergency arises. I want my students to feel connected to me and each other as a community of learners.
