I am a freelance English teacher, with over six years experience in journalism. I possess a Diploma in TESOL from the London Teacher Training College and am currently pursuing a MEd. in TESL. I have experience tutoring undergraduates in conversational and overall English language skills. Some of these students were tutored entirely online using Skype, with much success.
My passion for teaching is fuelled by an inner drive to help others discover their true potential by mastering a new language. Nothing is impossible if you apply yourself and I believe in helping my students discover that for themselves.

September 2009-present: Private English tutor. I Tutor college-going students in English to improve their reading, writing, speaking and grammar skills to help them better communicate and express themselves in the language.

I believe in facilitating and guiding my students in discovering a language, as opposed to spoon feeding them. Open communication with students is very important to me, including two-way feedback so that I understand where my students are coming from and can teach them better as a result. I believe in using different mediums to foster student interest in the language, such as audio clips, videos and other materials. Having prior experience tutoring students online via Skype, I'm familiar with technology as well as the challenges it poses and am able to adapt accordingly during language lessons.
