An Intermediate course in Poetic Forms and Techniques, covering Diction, Tone and Voice.
 
long description:
Course will outline and demonstrate examples of the poetic voice,
allowing students to study diction, tone, and voice in individual
pieces. Students will be required to write poetry for their
portfolio, and five individual poems will be assigned. Course
schedule includes weeks 1-3, study of diction, weeks 4-6, study
of tone, weeks 7-9, study of voice, weeks 10 - 12, voice and your
voice, week 13, final poem due.

I am a Canadian poet and screenwriter, and
am looking for a way to merge my love of
writing with my love of teaching, and am
looking forward to teaching people about the
fine art of the written word.
 
Teacher's qualifications:
I have worked with several leading Canadian
authors, whose work has been published
nationally and internationally. I have also
worked as creative director and editor for a
local university literary review, having
received high praise for my groundbreaking
work. I also have been published in several
Canadian publications, and continually
produce new work for publication.
 
's preferred teaching style:
I have a very relaxed teaching style. I
usually assign reading and a small amount of
homework, so that part of our class time is
working through individual pieces and
looking directly at technical examples,
while a portion of our time can remain for
discussion and analytical thinking.
