Have you recently purchased a Canon EOS digital SLR camera? Are you confused and overwhelmed with all those buttons, switches and dials? Do not despair! This course will teach you the basics of using all the basic camera functions. You will learn the how, what, when and why! Examine the basic and creative zone modes, aperture, exposure, ISO, the LCD, menus and many other basic functions. You will also learn about dramatic ways to use your Canon EOS camera as a tool to improve your photography and take it to the next level. This course involves the use of visuals, interaction and assignments.

Students will be introduced to the LCD, viewfinder, on/off button, battery, memory card, diopter and other miscellaneous basic information.

Students will learn the basic zone mode symbols, what they are used for and how to apply them in photography. The Auto, P, Portraiture, Landscape, Night Scene, Macro, Sports and A-Dep settings will be reviewed.

We will learn what the symbols mean such as M, Tv, Av modes and how they are applied in photography to create more successful compositions.

My name is Ronald Zincone d/b/a ronaldzinconephotography.com residing in Richmond, RI. I have been a photographer for 11 years, in business since 2005 and teaching since 2006. I have a passion for astronomy, weather and photography and I love to teach. I currently teach adult education and lifelong learning throughout Rhode Island at several institutions. Teaching photography is very rewarding for me! I enjoy photographing and sharing my knowledge and skills with others.
 
Teacher's qualifications:
New York Institute of Photography Graduate, 2004, 2007 and 2010
Professional Photography Course, Digital Photography Course and Scenic and Nature Course. Distance education courses in photography through Betterphoto.com and the Community College of Rhode Island. Currently teaching since 2006 at the Learning Connection in Providence, RI (adult education) and currently at the Frosty Drew Sky Theater in Charlestown, RI and the Community College of Rhode Island, Warwick Campus. I also teach one-on-one, hands-on private lessons in photography. I have been published and award-winning.
