description of :
I am an animated student oriented teacher. My philosophy is to get students to think out-side the box in all my business related courses. I also advise my students to choose a career they enjoy not just one to make money as you will be performing these duties for at least the next forty years. I have been instructing at Southern Union State Community College in Opelika Alabama since 1998. Since around 2003 I have been the lead adjunct in the business department as there is currently no full time faculty teaching business classes. I hold a B.S in Accounting, Masters in Human Resources Manangement and an M.B.A., additionally I have taken courses in Econmics to be able to instruct Micro and Macro Econimics. I have over 30 years of Management experience in the Textile Industry and in Accounting. For the past twelve years I have been employed with the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences. I began as a Jr. Accountant, was promoted to Staff Accountant with Supervision over Accounts Payable and Federal Grant Financial Administration. I am currently a Senior Accountant with additional duties including departmental budgets and operations plans and the State of Alabama\\\'s SMART Budgeting Plan. I also assist in the daily operation of the accounting department with cash flow and budgeting amendments, with limited responsibility for purchasing and property inventory.

's preferred teaching style:
I am animated and love to get students involved in the discussion. I try to give them thought provoking situations that will make them think outside the box. I do not use powerpoint presentations, I prefer to speak directly from the text and to back it up with personal experiences or examples of current events and situations that are relevant to the discussion.
