long description:
The objective of this course would be to improve a student?s essay-writing skills, writing progressively complex essays, including attention to logic, reasoning, clarity of expression, organization, how to draft and revise, and grammar. A student will learn how to compose a persuasive argument. Topics studies include but are not limited to: 1) style and tone; 2) techniques and tools of research. Suggested/Supplemental readings.

Currently an adjunct professor of English at a two-year community college. Have taught Composition and Literature since 2007. I also have one year experience teaching high school English. In addition I have a number of publishing and creative projects to my credit. 30 years as a technical writer in the corporate sector. Education: M.A., English, Seton Hall University.
 
's preferred teaching style:
Engage the student. Encourage opinions. To learn to write well, one must read. College Composition should be considered an interdisciplinary course, so students are exposed to various social and cultural stimuli. Learning to write is not done in a vacuum. Naturally attention to grammar.
